Farsided is marked In development. Expect rough edges and changes between updates — the demo you play here reflects work in progress, not a final release.

What Is Farsided?

Farsided is an HTML5 game by wispylatte (artwork) and lazykeys (programming), a two-person team. It is categorized on its official itch.io page as a Platformer and Puzzle game, tagged Exploration, Metroidvania, and Puzzle-Platformer, and built in Unity with artwork drawn in Clip Studio Paint.

You control Wheelie, a rover tasked with finding important Moon data and sending it back to its creators. The mission includes locating hidden terminals, gathering attachment upgrades along the way, and crossing the Moon’s caves and chasms — with the game’s own description promising puzzle-solving, exploration, platforming, and checkpoints.

It was made as a two-person entry for Game Demo Jam II and published on itch.io on September 17, 2026.

Gameplay

Farsided Gameplay

What the game’s official description and feature list establish about how it plays.

Wheelie’s Mission

You are a rover hunting important Moon data to send back to its creators. Finding the hidden terminals scattered across the Moon is the goal the page spells out.

Attachment Upgrades

Attachment upgrades are gathered during the journey. The feature list credits them with helping puzzle-solving, exploration, and platforming — the more you find, the more of the Moon opens up.

Exploration & Checkpoints

Tagged Exploration and Metroidvania, Farsided rewards roaming its connected caves. Checkpoints are listed among its features, so a fall into a chasm is a setback, not a restart.

Hover Across Gaps

Space makes Wheelie hover — the one movement trick in the published control list beyond walking and looking around, and a natural fit for a rover crossing lunar chasms.

Beginner Guide

How to Play Farsided

  1. Press Play Above

Use the player in the Play Farsided section. The demo loads on this page — nothing to install or download.

  2. Bring a Keyboard

The official page lists keyboard input only. A/D moves, W/S looks around, E interacts, and Space hovers — the full table is in the Controls section below.

  3. Explore the Moon

Farsided is tagged Exploration and Metroidvania: poke into side passages and lower caves, because hidden terminals and upgrades live off the main path.

  4. Interact With Terminals

The mission is finding Moon data — walk up to the terminals you discover and press E to interact with them.

  5. Grab Upgrades, Trust Checkpoints

Collect attachment upgrades as you go; they are what makes later puzzle-solving, exploration, and platforming manageable. Checkpoints keep a fall from costing you the whole run.

Context

Development Status & Game Demo Jam II

Farsided is explicitly marked In development — what you can play today is a demo, not a finished game. It was built by a team of two as an entry for Game Demo Jam II; you can see the jam submission page for the entry itself, and the official page to follow or support the project.

What the developers say comes next (future plans, not current features): refining levels and environments, adding more difficult puzzles and platforming challenges, writing more story, and continued bug fixing and polishing.
